Please read these Terms of Use carefully. By accessing or using the MediEazy website (medieazy.co.za) or the MediEazy platform, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or platform.
1. About MediEazy
MediEazy is a cloud-based medical practice management platform owned and operated by Leiten Technologies (P) Ltd., ("Leiten", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in India. Our head office address is in Chennai, India, and we serve medical practices primarily in South Africa.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and authorised to enter into binding agreements on behalf of yourself or the organisation you represent. The platform is intended for use by registered medical professionals, medical practices, hospitals, and their authorised staff.
3. Your account
When you create a MediEazy account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Keep your account credentials confidential
- Notify us promptly of any unauthorised access or security breach
- Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
4. Acceptable use
You agree NOT to:
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in breach of South African law
- Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform or its underlying systems
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or copy any part of the platform's source code
- Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially exploit the platform without our written consent
- Use the platform to send unsolicited communications (spam) to patients or third parties
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or entity
5. Subscription & payment
Use of the platform is subject to a subscription fee, billed in South African Rand (ZAR) unless otherwise agreed. Specific plan terms, pricing, and billing intervals are set out on our Pricing page or in your individual order form.
- Fees are payable in advance for the chosen billing cycle
- Late or failed payments may result in suspension of service
- You are responsible for any applicable taxes (e.g., VAT)
- Pricing may change with at least 30 days' written notice for existing customers
6. Cancellation & refunds
Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time and remain active until the end of the current billing period. Annual subscriptions are non-refundable except where required by law. We do not offer pro-rated refunds for partial periods unless specifically agreed in writing.
7. Patient data & medical aid claims
When you use MediEazy to manage patient records, schedule appointments, or submit medical aid claims:
- You remain the responsible party (data controller) for patient personal information
- Leiten Technologies acts as the operator (data processor) on your behalf
- You are responsible for obtaining all necessary patient consents required by POPIA, the Health Professions Act, and your professional regulator
- You must verify the accuracy of all claim submissions to Medikredit, Medprax, and the receiving medical aid schemes
- Leiten Technologies is not responsible for the outcome of claim adjudications, scheme rules, or member benefit limits
8. Third-party integrations
The platform integrates with third-party services including but not limited to Medikredit, Medprax, payment gateways, WhatsApp Business, and email delivery providers. These services have their own terms and privacy policies. Leiten Technologies is not responsible for the availability, performance, or content of third-party services.
9. Service availability
We aim to keep MediEazy available with high uptime, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance is communicated in advance where possible. Availability commitments for Enterprise customers are set out in individual Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
10. Intellectual property
All content on the MediEazy website and platform — including software, design, text, graphics, and trademarks — is owned by Leiten Technologies (P) Ltd., or its licensors and is protected by Indian and international intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the platform for your internal business purposes during your subscription.
11. Customer data ownership
You retain all rights to the data you upload to or generate on the platform (your "Customer Data"). We will not access or use your Customer Data except as necessary to provide the service, comply with the law, or with your express consent. You can export your Customer Data in standard formats at any time.
12. Disclaimers
The MediEazy platform is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free from harmful components.
MediEazy does not provide medical advice. The platform is a practice management tool. All clinical decisions, prescriptions, diagnoses, and patient care remain the sole responsibility of the registered healthcare professional. AI-assisted features (such as prescription suggestions and drug-interaction checks) are decision-support tools and must be reviewed by a qualified clinician before use.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Leiten Technologies' total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the platform — whether in contract, tort, or otherwise — will not exceed the total fees paid by you for the platform in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Leiten Technologies harmless from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the platform if you breach these Terms, fail to pay fees, or use the platform in a way that creates legal, financial, or reputational risk. On termination, your right to use the platform ends immediately, but you will retain reasonable access to export your Customer Data for a defined transition period.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions. The courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any competent court to protect our intellectual property or confidential information.
Nothing in this section excludes any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the laws of South Africa or your local jurisdiction.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the platform or by email to active customers at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
